About the initiative

In 2024, four craftswomen joined the Paris Opera's wig-makeup and sewing workshops as part of it's Academy's artisans-in-residence programme. Relaunched for three seasons, this initiative is essential to the development of creativity and the preservation of skills that are sometimes unique to the Opera. This video features Alice Gourmelon, wigmaker and makeup artist in residence at the Opera Academy last season, looking back on a year of discoveries alongside the company's professionals.
